Spam posts in private inbox!!!!????!!!!

Hello,

I didn't know where to post this. How are banned members able to post private messages to other members' private inbox here on the GPT Boycott forum?

I have recently received three private posts for the very same thing supposedly by two different banned members but I suspect the person to be the same as the spam post is verbatim the same advertisement.

I have e-mailed support.

Who is the owner/moderator of GPT Boycott? Please e-mail me privately to my private inbox.

See here. We are banning these bogus members as quickly as we find them ... probably before you even get a chance to read the message.

Another joined today and will be banned as soon as I can get to the admin area.

Another(?) spammer with the same spam message. They just keep joining! Truly pathetic! These spammers need to get a life!

We do the best we can. As soon as we get a notification, the offender is banned. Sadly we can't delete the PMs once they've been sent.

I seriously doubt it has anything to do with who own's the forum - It is more then likely the same spammer or bot doing the posts over and over again

I seen a forum get run over with these spammers because the owners never did anything to stop it - I think they are doing a great job considering I have only recieved 2 messages lol

Someone got the same exact message from the same exact username at GPF, so I'd go w/ bot as well...

I did a quick search on the URL that the spam links to and I saw no indication it had anything to do with this forum in particular.

According to a post on site advisor the same spammers are hitting a lot of forums including one belonging to "a major Firewall software company". I doubt that would have the same owner as GPTB and GPF. It would seem to just be a new method made up by the usual spam/malware groups trying to find more victims. It must be a bot because it would be unbelievably inefficient to have an actual person doing this leg-work and these type of malware/spam ops tend to go for efficiency, hitting victims en masse.

Can't it be fixed so you have to have so many legitimate posts before you can even send PM's?

I have been a member of a few forums where this was the case.
